Art, in its visual and written forms, is an important element of the Yahara 2070 scenarios, WSC’s initiative to explore what the future could be like for life in the Yahara Watershed. The stories and illustrations serve to evoke the human experience of the science within the scenarios–i.e., what do the data mean for how people would live? Already we’ve received positive feedback on our use of art, and we hope this bodes well for the scenarios’ ability to facilitate discussion about what kind of long-term future people want for the region.
Recently, a collaboration of American public broadcasters called QUEST, which showcases the science of sustainability, produced a video highlighting our project’s use of art. We are delighted to present it here.
Thanks to QUEST for featuring our project!
